EPRI and Southern California Edison: Showcasing New Technologies

PROGRAM MATERIALS, REPORTS

Each year, Caltech’s Rocket Fund program awards a group of innovators building emerging technologies that advance global sustainability. Southern California Edison (SCE) and the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) saw an opportunity to stay updated on these emerging technologies, so they developed  Technology Early Deployment (TED), a process where innovative technologies are selected for assessment and review based on the technology application, team strength, and alignment with SCE’s Technology Priority Map to fulfill California’s decarbonization challenge.

Milepost designed a series of 8-page Executive Summaries that outlined the benefits, market readiness, use cases, and performance of each selected technology. Using a mix of illustration, iconography, photography, and color blocking, we developed a unified template-style design that presented the information in a clean, organized, and compelling layout. We graphically illustrated each technology and developed supporting product diagrams to highlight product specifications and performance. Creating a consistent layout and a strong visual hierarchy made these reports easy to read and simple to skim for specific information.
