Dune Ives is a cultural and communications strategist, impact campaigner, and executive who is recognized as a leader advocating for solutions that help ensure a healthy planet. With 25+ years of expertise in sustainability, environmental issues, and business leadership across industries, Dune leads with what she stands for rather than against and believes in the power of market-based solutions to guide, influence, and support requisite policy shifts and individual behavior change.

Dune founded Milepost in 2006 to propel electric utility, commercial real estate, municipal, non-profit and corporate clients towards greater sustainability and organizational efficiency. Under her leadership, Milepost received its initial WMBE certification, achieved its B-Corporation status, and was consistently recognized as a Best Company to Work For in Washington State, including winning first place in 2014. In 2013 Milepost was ranked among the top 50 greenest companies in Washington state. Dune served as president through 2013, and now serves on the Board.

Dune has served at the helm of other award-winning environmental and philanthropic organizations such as Vulcan Inc., Lonely Whale, NextWave Plastics, and Green Sports Alliance where she led viral, global, cultural and behavior-change initiatives that secured awards such as Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas, Huffington Post’s Top Ten Movers and Shakers in Environmental Sustainability, and highest honors from the Effy, Shorty, and ADDY Awards. Dune herself has been featured in Fast Company, NPR, CNN, Grist, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, and Washington Post, to name a few.

Dune is currently serving as the Chief Marketing Officer at The Recycling Partnership.
